Basic Spray Painting guide Download

Spray painting is a versatile technique that requires precision and preparation for a smooth finish. Here’s a concise summary of the process:

  1. Preparation: Clean the surface thoroughly to remove dirt, grease, and contaminants. Sand the area lightly to ensure proper adhesion.
  2. Priming: Apply a suitable primer to create a base for the paint. This step is crucial for achieving an even and durable finish.
  3. Spray Painting: Shake the spray paint can well before use. Hold the can about 10-12 inches from the surface and apply light, even coats. Use a consistent back-and-forth motion, overlapping each pass slightly.
  4. Drying: Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next. Multiple thin coats are better than one thick coat to avoid drips and uneven coverage.
  5. Finishing: Seal the painted surface with a clear coat for added protection and a polished look.
